This original batik artwork is exclusively created using the handmade batik technique.
As standard, these paintings are offered without a frame and are sold in cloth form. Batik is a crafted fabric that requires a delicate and intricate process of waxing, dyeing, and boiling. Wax is used to block colors during the dyeing process, ensuring that every area of the fabric that should remain untouched by a specific color is covered with wax.
The process involves several steps, including:
1. Preparing the cloth
2. Tracing the designs
3. Stretching the cloth on a frame
4. Waxing the areas of the fabric that do not need dyeing
5. Preparing the dye
6. Dipping the cloth in the dye
7. Boiling the cloth to remove the wax
8. Washing the cloth with soap
Some paintings also have the option of being mounted onto a stretch frame, making them ready to hang directly on the wall.
This is an original batik artwork. In the ancient batik process, fabric is painted with wax and then dipped in dye. Wherever the wax is applied, it resists the dye. For each color, the fabric is waxed and dyed using traditional canting tools.
I have used modern dyes in my experiments to achieve these vibrant colors. I left a black border around the art so that you can choose your method of display. Options I have used in the past with batiks include framing, stretching the fabric on a wooden dowel to create a wall hanging, or even making a batik quilt or using it as an end table runner.
If you require additional information about the art, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
